Thread: 5Dimes Poker is stealing 54 thousand dollars from me

5Dimes Poker is stealing 54 thousand dollars from me

I signed up on 5Dimes 3 years ago, after a poker friend said he plays there and it was an "ok" site. I did a little research and saw they had high ratings as a sportsbook. Also I was not too concerned as I was playing recreationally.

I was told by customer service that I could play the weekly poker freeroll and was good to go. I took 3rd? in the first one I played. I used those winnings to play real money tables sporadically over the next three years building up my bankroll to about 800 dollar. I probably paid a couple thousand in rake over that period. Last Friday I was playing a NL25 badbeat jackpot table, and the unthinkable happened. My quad eights were rivered by a straight flush. I was in shock as I am a working stiff and this is more money than I make in a year. After the win all I thought about was paying off credit cards and paying down a good chunk of our mortgage.

For 5 days there was no issue. And then I got home from working overtime on New Years Day to find the funds confiscated. They tried to say that it was because I did not deposit. I specifically asked about this when signing up and carefully read the terms of service. They did not argue that I could not play free rolls, but switched to line in the TOS that I could not take advantage of the site. I did not even play many freerolls after that because it is after my bedtime, and I had built a bankroll on cash tables.

Do not play this site because I have now dug deeper and am finding out that they like to confiscate funds when someone wins a lot of money.

Let me state that I have never done anything against the terms of service, nor have they said I have. (besides taking advantage of them by playing a free roll they told me I could play!) They let me continue to play for three years.

This is a brutal story. I truly feel for you.

Pokerfraud isn’t what it used to be. Druff doesn’t read the site unless he is the OP so we gotta market your story.

People love pictures. Screenshots. Reading is work.

To that end, do you have any risqu pictures of your wife? Fishnets from the late 80’s to mid 90’s? Maybe she is younger. Some life advice from a middle age bloke, take those nude photos now. Her shame and public embarrassment today will be the source of pride tomorrow.

Screenshots of the hand would also go a long way too.

You might have better luck reaching him on Facebook. The Dodger FB group - pretend you care

It’s the first tangible evidence Tony is well.

    Good luck.

AOC is looking to tax 90% of those winnings now so you are saving money by not getting paid.

Here's the chat transcript Pablo posted to another site:

    paul xxxxx
    05:52:00 pm
I can not log into grand poker
I logged into the sportsbook and it says that you confiscated my funds

    Kendary
    05:53:36 pm

Good afternoon Mr xxxxxx Allow me a moment to check your account, please.

    paul xxxxxx
    05:54:07 pm

I was lucky enough to win the badbeat jackpot on Friday and do not understand what is going on. I have definitely not done anything wrong and this is obviously very troubling.

    Kendary
    05:56:46 pm

I understand sir. I'm checking your account. Please allow me a few moments.

    paul xxxxxx
    05:57:01 pm

    thank you for your help

    Kendary
    06:02:45 pm

Thanks for holding sir. Your access to the Gran Poker has been restricted because you are consider as an inactive customer. That is because you have never made a deposit on your account. Prizes for tournaments will only be awarded to active depositing players. The Poker access has been removed until you deposit.

    paul xxxxxx
    06:03:39 pm

are you saying that you have stolen all of my funds and are not going to give them back?
I have been playing on your site for over three years

    Kendary
    06:04:40 pm

We haven't stolen anything sir. I understand. But you have never made a deposit. You need to deposit in order for account to have access again to Poker sir.

    paul xxxxx
    06:05:28 pm

But will I have access to the fucds that were in my account?
    funds?
When I signed up I asked the customer support and they said it would be ok to play freerolls and sportsbet and play poker without any problem.

    Kendary
    06:10:09 pm

Thanks for holding. I'm afraid that the funds are not going to be back on your account. But the poker will be open to you so you can play.

    paul xxxxx
    06:12:18 pm

i was told i was welcome to play poker three years ago

    Kendary
    06:13:45 pm

You are sir. But the problem is that you never deposited. The funds on your account were money that you got on games without ever depositing on your account.

    paul xxxxxx
    06:16:16 pm

could you please not do this to me. I was told it was ok. I have played and been a customer who played games and payed rake. I was never told about the deposit requirement. There must be something that can be done as i do not see how this is fair

    Kendary
    06:17:56 pm

I'm really sorry Mr xxxxx. I'm afraid there's nothing to do. You can deposit now and have access to Poker, but unfortunately the funds are not going to get back on your account.

    paul xxxxx
    06:21:11 pm

Why was i told it was not a problem when i spoke to customer support when i signed up? How can i play and win and lose for three years with no issue?

    Kendary
    06:24:15 pm

Thanks for holding sir. I was checking and it seems that no one ever told you that Mr xxxxx. I am really sorry but there is nothing we can do as you accepted our rules at the moment you created the account.

    paul xxxxx
    06:29:03 pm

could i please see that in the rules? I spoke to a customer service rep and asked the question 3 years ago. I am not lying about this. Again i don't understand how this could possibly happen considering i have played, won, and lost, payed rake and supported the site with no issue. This obviously seems inappropriate and i can not understand how i could be playing for three years and for once in my life i win something big it is being ripped away from me with a non plausible explanation.

    Kendary
    06:33:19 pm

I understand Mr xxxxx. On the site you can find these: "Management reserves the right to confiscate the bonus, affiliate earnings and/or applied transaction fees in any account(s) deemed to be taking advantage of any of our programs." https://www.5dimes.eu/rules.html

And also: "Freeplay Prizes for this tournament will only be awarded to active depositing players." https://www.5dimes.eu/grand_poker_promos.html
I am sorry sir. But there is nothing we can do. The decision is final. You can deposit and have access back to the Grand Poker.

    paul
    06:34:36 pm

yeah i don't think that is going to happen.

    Kendary
    06:34:53 pm

Ok, sir. Is there anything else I can assist you with?

    paul xxxx
    06:36:27 pm

i am trying to read those i don't think it is takeing advantage to play a freeroll that i was told i could play and then continue to pay rake into the site for years to have this popup when i finally hit the BBJ

    Kendary
    06:38:31 pm

By what medium were you said that it was ok sir?
You can play the freeroll sir. The problem is that you have never deposited on your account.

    paul xxxx
    06:39:05 pm

I asked the gentlemen on the phone who i set up my username with
If i can play the freeroll, what is the problem?

    Kendary
    06:41:13 pm

Now you can't. The problem is that you played all of this time without ever deposit on your account.

    paul xxxxx
    06:41:48 pm

I am saying that the fellow said i was welcome to play the freeroll
And i still don't see where it says i c ould not have

    Kendary
    06:42:42 pm

And of course you were welcome to do it sir. But the problem is when you do it for so many years without ever depositing and take advantage of it.

    paul xxxxx
    06:46:17 pm

That does not make sense. I payed a lot in rake. That is not taking advantage of the site. I haven't even played that freeroll very often at all. I was not just playing freerolls and that was that. How many times have i even played the sunday freeroll in the last 2 years?

    Kendary
    06:47:40 pm

Mr xxxxxx I am sorry there is nothing we can do at this moment, if you want to continue playing in poker you can make a deposit and the access will be restored otherwise I am sorry but you have the final answer.

    paul xxxxx
    06:49:17 pm

I appreciate your time Kendary, but is there a supervisor i could speak to?
I understand there is nothing that you can do

    Kendary
    06:50:30 pm

You are very welcome Mr xxxx. Yes, sir. Let me transfer you to the supervisor of the department in charge for further assistance.

    paul xxxxx
    06:50:42 pm

    Thank you

    Kendary
    06:50:44 pm

    My pleasure!

    Zed
    06:51:07 pm

    Greetings Mr.xxxxx
    I am the supervisor,
    how can I help you?

    paul xxxxx
    06:51:19 pm

    Hello sir.
Do i need to explain the whole situation or do you have that in front of you?

    Zed
    06:53:05 pm

no, Sir I am aware of the situation
unfortunately for this case there is nothing we can do, Kenday already give you the reason and the explanation as of why this happened

    paul
    06:56:29 pm

Sir if you could please help me in this matter... I do not agree with the decision. I have played and payed rake and supported the site for a while I have not even played many freerolls, which was the reason given to me for the confiscation. For years and years, poker sites have offered these to get players on their sites. I was told i could play the freerolls when i signed up.

    Zed
    06:57:57 pm

Sir, we don't even offer the play for fun on the poker room, I am sorry and I understand your frustration on this case since it was a large bonus the one you got
but the rules apply the same way
I am sorry but that is the final decision

    paul xxxxx
    06:58:24 pm

    what rule?

    Zed
    06:58:47 pm

bonus are for depositing and active customer you are not
I am sorry this is the way you found out of this but there is nothing we can do now

    paul xxxx
    07:00:49 pm

It is not a bonus. It was a hand that i was dealt at a real money table that i was paying rake, while paying additional rake TO THE SITE for the opportunity to win the bad beat jackpot.

    Zed
    07:01:13 pm

where did you get the money to play int that table?
    in that*

    paul xxxxxx
    07:01:35 pm

From a sunday freeroll which you told me i could play

    Zed
    07:02:11 pm

you can play it but you can not take advantage of that if you have never deposit

    paul xxxxx
    07:02:48 pm

I am not trying to be argumentative, but isn't this a semantic argument?

    Zed
    07:03:37 pm

Si,r unfortunately the answer and the decision wont change
    Sir,*

    paul xxxxx
    07:03:53 pm

I was told i could play. I then continue to play real money tables paying money to the site, in which the site benefited.

    Zed
    07:05:25 pm

from money you won from a freeroll, Sir
there is no benefit if we are the ones that give you the money to play with in the first place

    paul xxxxx
    07:06:51 pm

if i won 75 dollars from a freerolls and paid hundreds in rake is the site benefittng?

    Zed
    07:07:57 pm

    no, Sir
and unfortunately like I said this decision won't change
as I have said I understand the frustration but arguing this will get us nowhere
there are rules we must follow I understand there are not of your liking at the moment but we must follow them the same

    paul xxxxx
    07:14:18 pm

i understand you are doing your job but can you not see where i am coming from. it is not logical to let a player play for three years paying fees via rake and when said said player has followed site rules funds are confiscated

    Zed
    07:16:07 pm

I am sorry but that is the case as management find out and review the account they took the decision
    as soon as management*

    paul
    07:20:07 pm

So are you telling me that it is acceptable to confiscate my previous bankroll as well?
Prior to me winning the bad beat jackpot?

    Zed
    07:20:55 pm

yes as you have never made a deposit

***By the way, when I signed up for the account, they did not have anything about having to deposit to be an active account. That must of been added sometime after.

Pablo is also correct that they later ADDED a term regarding the requirement to deposit.

In fact, they did it right AFTER he won the bad beat jackpot!

Here's their terms from December 2, 2018 (just 5 weeks ago), taken from Google Cache:

Pablo, I feel for you, bro.

I suggest you call them and really raise hell.

You got cheated. Tell them that everyone in poker is behind you, and you are about to make a huge stink about this all over social media, with the help of both poker and sports forums and podcasts.

Get the highest manager you can on the phone.

Point out the google cache showing that they just added that term after you won.

Speaking of which, would you like to appear on PokerFraudAlert Radio?

    hey Pablo, brutal shit man...

druff will give you good advice with all this shit...would also get ahold of joey ingram (think he is chicagojoey on twitter)...he does youtube vids about this sorta shit...obviously really sucks losing $50K, but if you can at least get some bad press out there you might put a little dent in their poker business which is at least a consolation prize...

    Wow this sucks.

Why even have this poker freeroll then?

I have played in it a few times bored on a sunday night and ran up money to cashout but I've also deposited on 5dimes as well a few times in the past. They also stole my credit card number twice when I tried to use it being out of BTC at the time (likely some low waged worker selling them to people on the dark web).

You can just bet if someone deposited over a year ago and never deposited since then a year later wins $50 in the freeroll and runs it up hitting the BBJ they would say they same BS claiming you haven't deposited recently,etc... They would create a new loophole on the fly to prevent paying someone.

This is shady as hell and I assume they are keeping Pablo's money versus putting it back into the BBJ where it should go if they aren't going to pay Pablo.

Druff- Next radio show we need a call to 5dimes regarding this matter.

Thank you to everybody. I have pictures of the money in my account. These (fill in the blank) have not even put the money back into the BBJbig shock. They have refused to send me to the higher ups when asked. I have explained to them that this is going to be a P.R. nightmare. Can't say thanks enough to everyone.

It's very clear to me that they added the rule BECAUSE of you.

I posted that Google cache from December 2 showing that the rule wasn't there.

Would you like to appear on my radio show this week? Right now it's tentatively scheduled for Wednesday (it was supposed to be tonight but I had to cancel due to illness).

Get well soon. Thank you for the offer. I will try to take you up on that if I can. I have been working a ton of overtime at work, and running the kids around to sports etc. I wish they would just be fair about this and make the right decision, but it is not looking like. I have tried to explain the possible PR backlash, but the last reply from them seemed more ridiculous. Here it is.

Thank you for contacting us. After checking the transcript of the chat you had with our Supervisor Zed, it looks like you already got an explanation of this. I understand you don't see this as an abuse of any of our bonus programs however, playing for three years without making a deposit, using our software and possibly taking time from clerks and people behind all the business which cost some money as well, let me tell you that is abuse. Any of the information provided has changed since you chat with our supervisor, as mentioned over the chat: prizes, bonuses, and winnings are honor for active customers only.
Let us know if you need further assistance.

    Best regards,

jesus Christ...this sounds like some caesars level of rationale here...if after you won money in a freeroll and then you used that money to play in tourneys or cash games that were raked you paid for all of those things...

they don't like this then they shouldn't hold freerolls, plain and simple...

    What shady assholes.

They raked a ton of BBJ money all that time. You were in some of those games, keeping them active.

So, yes, you contributed to the site even though you won money and never deposited. Plus you played UNDER THEIR RULES.

But yeah, this look like just an excuse to steal BBJ money. As you said, they never put it back in the pool.

Wouldn't even surprise me if some lower-tier managers are in cahoots to pull this off, and are going to keep it for themselves.

Sorry to hear this turned out to be what it is, very shady, very sad, theft!
